Our Sustainable Transport Plan

We are committed to sustainability and improving our environmental footprint. We would like to encourage car sharing and a range of routes to approach the forest from.

During Spring/Summer our site is accessible via the River Ayr cycle path- it’s a beautiful route! We would encourage anyone traveling from nearby to give it a go. Here’s a link to the cycle path details:

DIRECTIONS BY CAR

THE NEAREST POSTCODE IS KA6 5AE.

From Whitletts Roundabout, drive along the B743 towards Mossblown. Turn right at the second turning into Auchincruive Estate (there is limited signage but there is a bus stop outside and a sign saying 'Bothy Cafe' and AC White) located about 1 mile past the sign saying ‘MCD Timbers’ (avoid the first turning into Auchincruive saying ‘Allanvale Estate’ as there will be a barrier up blocking access). As you enter the estate our car park is located about 100 meters ahead on your left. To get to our forest school site, look for a gap in the hedge at the back left corner of the car park, follow the track to the right for about 50 metres and you will find us!

Train

Ayr train station offers a regular service to Glasgow, Troon and North Ayrshire. Find out more here.

Several Stagecoach Western services run from the centre of Ayr to the Little Acorns’ gates. More details of local buses can be found on the Stagecoach Bus website.
